Mentoring for Life
Bringing together our community to start a conversation exploring how Coweta County can become one of the nurturing communities in Georgia and part of the Georgia State of Hope Initiative. Designed by Georgia State University Andrew Young School of Social Work, Division of Family and Children’s Services, and Georgia Family Connection; Family Patterns Matter is a state of hope site in Coweta County.
We began our initiative by inviting our community leaders and constituents together to discuss the vision. We have a core group that has come together to define and design the solutions to address and build the safety nets that will prevent conditions that attribute to disparities in education, threaten a families stability and allow for child abuse and neglect. Through this initiative of close collaboration, we will achieve our vision. As a result, children are safer, families are stronger and communities are more supportive places for all citizens to thrive. We have a start date of the fall of 2020.
Our goal is all children have the opportunity to thrive in school. Parents will have the resources to provide a stable home in which their children can thrive.
To begin our Mentoring for Life project of community of hope, we are partnering with the Coweta Department of Juvenile Justice.
Our vision is to have mentors from all walks of life who are dedicated and will be a positive influence in each child to allow them to thrive and reach their dreams. To be part of the mentoring program email firstname.lastname@example.org
