legal assistance; womenslaw.org in your state

Domestic Violence comes in many forms. Some people do not realize that domestic violence can take on the form of not only physical, but also emotional, psychological, and financial. In fact, Futures Without Violence report that approximately 15.5 Million children live every day in a family where domestic violence happens.

The extraordinary Michael J. Fox is quoted as saying, “One’s dignity may be assaulted, vandalized and cruelly mocked but it can never be taken away unless it is surrendered

Awareness Months

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month!!

Teen DV Month, also called TDVAM, is a national awareness program to make teens aware of possible abuse in their relationships. It is about helping teens and younger adults in their 20s to recognize issues, and to provide information to help prevent abuse in the future.

NATIONAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

National Domestic Violence Awareness Month is an annual designation observed in October. For many, home is a place of love, warmth, and comfort. It’s somewhere that you know you will be surrounded by care and support, and a nice little break from the busyness of the real world. But for millions of others, home is anything but a sanctuary.

Every 9 seconds, a woman in the U.S. is beaten or assaulted by a current or ex-significant other.
